Introducing Sibos Osaka 2012

14 December 2011

Osaka

The journey begins

Osaka Japan plays host to Sibos 2012.  Osaka is the third largest city in Japan and is considered one of the ‘command centres’ of the Japanese economy. Osaka’s financial ties date back to the 1800s as the first modern future exchange market in the world for the rice trade. The city rapidly grew into an industrial centre paving the way for capitalism in Japan. Today, Osaka is a rich hub of international business activity complemented by a well-established reputation for education and the arts.

Sibos 2012 officially takes place at Osaka’s International Exhibition Center, commonly known as INTEX OSAKA.

With Sibos 2012 less than a year away, exhibitor packages are now available to join influential leaders of the financial industry at the world’s premier financial services event. Facilitated and organised by SWIFT for the SWIFT community, Sibos is unparalleled in its reputation to do business and shape the future of the financial industry.

What’s new this year?

Community feedback has played an integral part in shaping Sibos Osaka 2012.  Here is a preview of some of the new features:

  • INTEX is very flexible in design and as such, enables Sibos to integrate the conference within the exhibition space. This allows for a greater traffic flow and more centralised hub of activity. Lounge spaces with additional SibosTV screens, as well as a prominent location for Innotribe will help further your Sibos experience.
  • Osaka has an expansive public transportation network renowned for its speed, easy navigation and accessibility. Sibos week pass participants will receive a metro card and instructions to match with their registration. With many of the official hotels and venues in the centre of the city, this is a fast, convenient, green option to complement the Sibos buses which will operate as per previous years.
  • Sibos Osaka will take place from 29 October – 1 November 2012.  Thursday, 1 November will feature a full conference programme, closing plenary with a prominent keynote speaker and closing event.  Based on feedback from the community, the Sibos exhibition will no longer be open on Friday morning.

These are just some of the new highlights. Watch this space and we look forward to welcoming you in Osaka.
