Sibos conference theme

The next frontiers of global finance

Reflecting the industry’s continuing transformation and the opportunities and challenges shaping the future, the Sibos conference explored the Next Frontier of Global Finance. The programme featured more than 700 speakers across over 280 sessions, with a strong focus on innovation, digital currencies, payments, interoperability, ESG, and compliance. Once again progress was made on gender speaker balance, with 41% of contributors being women.

New conference streams like the Policy Lab were added to established favourites like View from the Top, Inside Leadership, the Big Issue Debates and Innotribe to create the most in-depth, relevant and informative conference programme to date.

Publicly available sessions are available on Sibos TV.

STAR Scholars programme

Talent and innovation in the spotlight

The STAR Scholars programme welcomed 41 exceptional scholarship holders from 20 countries, with dedicated mentoring and inspirational talks to support career progression for women in finance. The Swift Hackathon attracted a record-breaking 104 teams to compete while, on the Innotribe Stage, an expanded Perfect Pitch competition saw over 70 submissions.

Sustainability

Sustainability and community initiatives

Sustainability was a core theme not only throughout the conference programme but in the delivery of Sibos itself, with 55% of exhibition and conference materials repurposed or donated to local associations and 80% of show waste recycled. In the restaurants, half of the food served was plant-based and across the site, Sibos was entirely powered by green electricity.

Elsewhere, Sibos made a big impression on its communities, with 80 students from German educational institutions invited to gain valuable insights into the finance and technology sectors. Local charities also benefitted, with Children for a Better World and the WWF’s nature conservation project in Krautsand selected as charity partners.

Sibos 2026
