Kirsty Roth is a Group General Manager, and Global Head of Operations, having joined HSBC in May 2016 to lead the Operations function, a global organisation of circa. 50,000 colleagues working in 59 countries. Kirsty describes herself as 'fundamentally a change person', and has a background in leading large-scale transformation programmes over a 20-year career spent in Banking, and management consultancy.
From 2011 to 2015, Kirsty was the Chief Operating Officer for the Finance, Operations and IT division, at Credit Suisse, overseeing a workforce of 20,000 employees, and a budget of USD6 billion. Kirsty was responsible for operational management of the division; Bank-wide portfolio management, project services, procurement, back office finance and IT strategy, and risk including cyber as well as major regulatory programmes such as those classified as TBTF (too big to fail).
Kirsty led the Bank's innovation portfolio including a strong focus on utilities, crowd sourcing as well as completing successful implementations of robotics across Finance, Operations and IT. Kirsty is credited with moving the Bank to best in class operational benchmarks and offshoring ratios.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Kirsty was a Consulting Partner with Deloitte for 10 years, based in London, Zurich and New York. Kirsty led a range of transformation programmes for client organisations in the financial services and banking sectors, including M&A, and major regulatory, and industry change programmes.
Kirsty began her career in technology with HBOS plc after graduating with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.
Kirsty lives with her husband and two daughters in Zurich, Switzerland, and spends most of her weekends outdoors doing anything from freestyle skiing, stand up paddle boarding to open water swimming and trail running.
