In cross-border trade transactions, dozens of trade documents are exchanged — mainly in paper form, as faxes or PDFs. Operators visually check the documents and then manually enter the data. Such a process is time- and cost-consuming, and the workload is enormous. To streamline this process, NTT DATA collaborates with government, and also launched a consortium with leading trade-related companies in Japan such as cargo owners, banks, insurance companies, maritime companies, logistics companies, etc. In addition, we aim to provide solutions by using various technologies such as blockchain (Distributed Ledger Technology), ontology, etc. Details of the consortium activities will be introduced in this session.
