Sensemaker: The possible applications of quantum computing

Research Scientist
IBM Research Australia

For the 2018 Sensemaker series, Innotribe has partnered with IBM Research. Quantum computers will eventually allow us to solve problems that are unsolvable today using classical computer systems alone. As a Research Scientist with a background in experimental particle physics, Dr. Anna Phan has conducted work at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, known as the most complex experimental facility ever built. She is now investigating quantum computing algorithms and applications as a member of IBM Research’s Australia lab. In this session, she will discuss IBM Q, a first-of-its kind commercial quantum computing program, and the ongoing, exploratory research of applying quantum in the financial industry.
