The Sibos 2022 conference agenda will centre on the theme of progressive finance for a changing world, addressing how financial organisations can successfully identify, adapt and scale forward-thinking innovation.
The key to success is striking the right balance between digital transformation, navigating evolving risks and sustainability. To reflect this, the conference agenda will drill down into three sub-themes:
Embracing the digital landscape and technological opportunities
Driving sustainability and ethics
Succeeding in uncertain times

Organisations face unprecedented challenges to adapt and grow. Customers’ priorities are changing rapidly, and we’re experiencing major shifts in the global geopolitical landscape. While new risks emerge, so too do new opportunities for financial services providers to collaborate, innovate and drive positive change.
Embracing the digital landscape
Smart innovation is essential to accelerate the pace of change for the financial industry. Every part of the financial ecosystem including payments, trade finance, securities and fintech is looking for ways to enhance their service offering, scale up or launch new business models. This often starts with partnership, combining best-in-class expertise, reach and technological agility to deliver solutions which really move the dial.
Embracing new technology can help deliver true digital transformation and make organisations more future-proof. Many of the building blocks are consistent across the industry, for example AI, machine learning, big data and harnessing the power of the cloud. There are many common challenges too – constraints of legacy systems, interoperability and balancing security and compliance with innovation.
Organisations are also grappling with evolving regulatory demands, for example the G20/Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) recommendations on cross-border payments, and ESG reporting requirements such as the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regime (SFDR).
At the same time, digital services and devices are shaping consumer and business expectations more than ever, and demand for instant outcomes is running high.
From digital currencies, Banking as a Service and cryptography, to trade digitisation, platform interlinkages and metaverses, Sibos will bring together the financial community to debate the challenge of making new technologies mainstream, the true impact of innovation on commercial success, and the route to creating a more transparent, inclusive and sustainable industry.
Conference sessions on embracing the digital landscape will feature leading subject matter experts, and debate topics such as*:
Let’s get digital: A blueprint for the payments model of the future
Flipping the digital coin: CBDCs, stablecoins and cryptocurrencies
Servicing digital assets: Who will win the battle?
The power of data: Delivering a step change in financial crime compliance
Bridging digital platforms: Is interoperability a pipedream or possibility?
Are Electronic Bills of Lading the key to unlocking a digital world?
Harnessing big data towards ESG compliance
Can our cybersecurity defences shield us from new super technologies?
Connecting digital islands: Joining up digital currencies and payment systems

Register now to join us in Amsterdam from 10-13 October 2022.
