The sixth edition of the hugely popular Discover Perfect Pitch competition was held live in Frankfurt, offering leading fintechs from around the world the chance to showcase their products and services to the Sibos community.
This year, Innotribe welcomed seven fintech finalists across three streams. Ambitious Adventurer, for those excelling across culture, people and teams. Community Pioneer for companies driving change in the community, while Established Trendsetter welcomed entrants solving a financial inclusion dilemma, or providing innovative solutions to known problems.
The finalists delivered their final pitches to the Innotribe community and faced a grilling from our panel of judges in front of a captivated audience.
Ambitious Adventurer
Brian Nolan and Finteum won the Ambitious Adventurer category, a platform solving intra-day liquidity optimisation problems which can cost over $100 million dollars per bank, per year.
Chief Executive Officer, Finteum, Brian Nolan, said: “It was an incredibly competitive pitch, and a really rewarding experience for Finteum. It’s come at a pivotal time as we embark on a major growth journey, so we’re looking forward to connecting with the wider Sibos network.”
Community Pioneer
Aoife Manley and Gemsen prevailed among Community Pioneer fintechs. Historically, banks have found it challenging to collaborate on data and privacy matters due to restrictions sharing sensitive information. Gemsen addresses that by providing a shared radar screen so banks and financial institutions can collaborate to detect fraud and cyber intrusions in real-time, without compromising on data privacy.
Co-founder and COO, Gemsen, Aoife Manley, said: “Financial institutions have a deep desire to collaborate, yet they haven’t had the infrastructure to do so. We’re looking forward to bringing our solution to market and providing the tools to truly collaborate and end fraud and cyber intrusion on a system-wide scale.”
Established Trendsetter
Paul Walsh explained how Metacert has made it simple for banks to protect their customers against phishing attacks – the world’s biggest cyber-security threat. MetaCert’s breakthrough applies a zero-trust principle to weblinks, enabling customers to identify whether a link is trustworthy or not simply by hovering a cursor.
Founder and CEO, MetaCert, Paul Walsh, said: “We’re excited to scale our product across the entire financial sector, help reduce the risks for a wide range of institutions and allow customers to provide more trust in their security providers.”
Our judges[NJ1]
The judging panel consisted of a range of industry experts who fired off a round of questions to test finalists’ pitches.

Samantha Emery is a Senior Financial Services Executive and NED with experience at Lloyds Banking Group, the Financial Conduct Authority, as well as a Director of Swift SC.
