The Sibos 5k Fun Run & Walk will be held on Wednesday, 1 October, on Castle Island, home of historic Fort Independence. Register online to run or walk in this fun athletic networking event.
Fort Independence has stood guard of Boston Harbor since 1634 and is one of the oldest fortified sites in North America. Castle Island is one of Boston’s most popular swimming destinations for both residents and visitors. It is connected to the mainland by a pedestrian and vehicle causeway allowing year round access to the local favourite picnic spot and fishing pier. A pedestrian causeway fully encloses the water of Pleasure Bay between Castle Island and the mainland, keeping the water quality high and temperature warm for beach goers and bathers. Participants of the Sibos 5k Fun Run & Walk will run or walk around the causeway separating Pleasure Bay from the greater Boston Harbor while enjoying surrounding views of the sunrise over both the Boston skyline and the bustling harbour.
Since the city’s founding in 1630, Boston Harbor has been a well-established hub of commerce and activity. The newly revitalized waterfront combines Boston’s longstanding history with a modern and world-class visitor experience. The clean and restored harbour buzzes with recreational sailboats, commercial fishermen, and ferries, and is lined with classic New England seafood restaurants, as well as landmarks, such as the Institute of Contemporary Art, the Boston Children’s Museum, and the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum.
Start your preparation now for the Sibos 5k by downloading the complimentary 7-week training plan and be ready to run or walk the Sibos 5k.
Transportation to and from official Sibos hotels will be provided along with catered boxed breakfasts. We will ensure Sibos attendees have sufficient time to return to their hotels after the race and prepare for the day feeling energized after an invigorating morning of exercise and networking.
