Joachim Nagel, President of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Christian Sewing, CEO of Deutsche Bank, and Jürgen Klopp, Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, announced as Sibos 2025 plenary speakers, bringing powerful leadership insights from some of the most influential figures in finance and sport.</em></p> Opening plenary</strong></p> Sibos week will kick off with two of Germany’s most prominent financial leaders Joachim Nagel, President of Deutsche Bundesbank and Christian Sewing, CEO of Deutsche Bank.</p> The plenary will also include updates from Swift CEO Javier Pérez-Tasso and Swift Chair of the Board Graeme Munro, who’ll share their outlooks on the future direction of global finance.</p> Joachim Nagel</strong> has been President of the Deutsche Bundesbank since January 2022. Prior to this, he served in senior management positions at the Bundesbank between 1999 and 2016, including as an Executive Board member from 2010 with responsibility for the Directorates General Markets, Controlling and IT. Prior to joining the Bundesbank, Nagel held senior positions at KfW Group and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). He also serves as a member of the Governing Council of the ECB, a Governor at the IMF and a member of the BIS Board of Directors.</p> Joachim Nagel, President of the Deutsche Bundesbank</figcaption></figure></div> Christian Sewing</strong> has been CEO of Deutsche Bank since April 2018 and a member of the bank’s Management Board since January 2015. He joined Deutsche Bank in 1989 and has worked in Frankfurt, London, Singapore, Tokyo and Toronto. His previous roles have included various responsibilities and management positions, including Head of Group Audit, Deputy Chief Risk Officer, and responsibility for Deutsche Bank’s Private & Commercial Bank.</p> Additionally, Sewing has been the President of the German Banking Association since July 2021 and from March 2023 to February 2025 he was the President of the European Banking Federation.</p> Christian Sewing, CEO of Deutsche Bank </figcaption></figure></div> Closing plenary</strong></p> The week will conclude with a fireside chat featuring Jürgen Klopp</strong>, former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool FC manager, in conversation with Sibos TV host Olivia Kinghorst</strong>.</p> Jürgen Klopp</strong> is a highly respected German football manager, born in Stuttgart and best known for his successful managerial career with Mainz 05 (which he managed from 2001 to 2008, winning their first ever Bundesliga promotion), Borussia Dortmund (which he managed from 2008 to 2015, winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles) and Liverpool FC (which he managed from 2015 to 2024, transforming the club and winning the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020). He left Liverpool at the end of the 2023-2024 season.</p> His managerial philosophy emphasises strong team relationships, inspiration, and leading by example. Klopp also had a playing career, predominantly as a striker and defender for Mainz 05. He is currently Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull, a role he took on in January 2025. In this strategic position, Klopp supports Red Bull's global network of football clubs and coaches by providing guidance on sporting vision, player and talent development, and scouting.</p> In this closing session, Klopp will share his insights on authentic leadership and discuss how business leaders can apply lessons in resilience and confidence from the football field to successfully navigate today’s dynamic business environment.</p> Jürgen Klopp, Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull</figcaption></figure></div> Alan Rowan, Head of Sibos for Swift,</strong> remarked:</p> “We’re excited to welcome Joachim, Christian, and Jürgen to Frankfurt.
