The Open Theatres are presentation areas on the exhibition floor, where exhibiting companies can present their latest research papers, reports or case studies that are relevant to the Sibos community.
Since they were first introduced at Sibos 2007 in Boston, they have proven to be very successful and have increased in popularity year-on-year. In 2008, two were opened to cater for the immediate surge in demand and this trend has continued.
This year, 66 exhibitors will be presenting over the course of Sibos week in Geneva.
The sessions will be continuous, only stopping for the closing plenary on Thursday. Each exhibitor will have 30 minutes to share their insight with delegates.
The two Open Theatres will be located on opposite sides of the exhibition floor, with each area chosen for maximum visibility. Seating will be provided for delegates to watch the sessions.

Alex Hewetson, who has managed the Open Theatres on behalf of SWIFT since their debut in Boston, said: “These sessions highlight a rich cross-pollination of ideas from some of the world’s leading companies.” “Each year, the Sibos exhibitors use the Open Theatres to talk about the latest thinking and thought leadership on a host of subjects that are of particular interest to the Sibos community. We don’t allow commercial presentations or direct selling.”
“Their interactive presentations approach the industry’s hottest topics from different angles and perspectives. As such, they allow delegates to hear how their partners and suppliers are addressing the challenges in today’s financial sector.”
Check out sibos.com for further details and the full programme of this year’s Open Theatre sessions.
