Sibos Update

Introducing your host for Sibos 2018 – ICC Sydney

First opened in December 2016, International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney has established itself as one of Asia Pacific’s top business event venues.

Delegates who attended Sibos in 1997 or 2006 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre will notice that the newly-developed ICC Sydney, and the surrounding Darling Harbour area, has undergone an amazing transformation courtesy of a AUS$3.4bn redevelopment project led by the Australian Government.

There is now a new convention and exhibition centre, live entertainment venue and redeveloped parkland.

In the below video, Business Development Manager Helen Mantellato highlights why ICC Sydney is the ideal host for Sibos, located just 8km from the airport and within walking distance of the city centre and major hotels.

A leader in CSR

The team at ICC Sydney is committed to creating a powerful and long-lasting legacy from all of the events that they host.

Helen discusses their multi-streamed Legacy Program, which focuses on engaging clients to host sustainable events, the local startup community, the indigenous population and the city’s students. The Sibos team will be collaborating with ICC Sydney on a number of CSR initiatives this year.

Culinary innovation

To keep delegates fuelled and energised throughout a busy week, the on-site catering team, headed by Executive Chef Tony Panetta, will be creating an array of fresh and nutritional culinary delights.

Helen explains how all produce and ingredients are sourced from artisan farmers and producers across New South Wales, so delegates will be able to sample what the region has to offer.

The city’s top attractions, such as the Sydney Opera House, are virtually on the doorstep. ICC Sydney is also well connected by transport links, so delegates will be able to explore the stunning New South Wales coastline and national parks that surround Sydney.
