A quick tour of the five Zones at Sibos 2017
We’re excited to be introducing a new-look layout for this year’s Sibos. As preparations ramp up, I thought it would be useful to give you an overview of the five different Zones that will make up Sibos 2017.
These Zones will be spread across the North and South Buildings at the MTCC, and will be connected by the Bridge.
The Bridge itself will also be something of an experiential feature, where you’ll be able to sample local delicacies and pick up your copy of Sibos Issues and the latest publications from our media partners.
Meet Zone (Levels 200, 300 & 500)
The Meet Zone will be the entry point for Sibos, where you can pick up your Sibos badge and visit the information desk if you have any queries.
It will feature the Sibos Restaurant, which will offer a diverse range of local and international dining options (look out for further information in the coming weeks). There will also be a number of meeting rooms that Sibos participants can use. Should you have any requirements, please contact the Sibos Registration Office to see what’s possible.
Inspire Zone (Level 100)
The spacious John Bassett Theatre in the Inspire Zone will house the 2017 Plenary sessions and the Big Issue Debates. This year’s Big Issue Debates will bring together leading figures from across the industry to cover cybersecurity, geopolitics and regulation, disruptive innovation and AI, and the Future of Money. Don’t miss them!
The Sibos closing event will be a two-hour cocktail reception, where you’ll be able to enjoy some high-level networking to round off a successful week! It will take place in the Constitution Hall, which is located next to the John Bassett Theatre, immediately after the Closing Plenary on Thursday.
All delegates with either a week-long pass or a Thursday day pass will be able to attend.
Discover Zone (Level 600)
The Discover Zone represents a new frontier for Sibos and will host some new additions: A FinTech Marketplace and a FinTech Theatre.
The FinTech Marketplace will feature cutting-edge FinTech companies from around the world, whilst the FinTech Theatre will give startups the chance to present on how their proposition is helping customers in today’s volatile market.
In addition to these new networking initiatives, and following the success of the FinTech Corner in Geneva last year, the Canada Lounge will welcome 32 Canadian FinTech startups who will showcase their solutions in payments, securities markets, cybersecurity and RegTech.
Learn Zone (Level 700)
The main conference sessions will take place in the appropriately-named Learn Zone.
This Zone will also feature the Standards Forum sessions, where you can discuss the benefits that standards can bring to your company. Find out how standards can help you to navigate the future.
The SWIFT Institute sessions, SWIFT Auditorium sessions and the SWIFTLab product demos will also be hosted in this busy Zone.
Connect Zone (Level 800)
The Connect Zone will host the Sibos Exhibition, where delegates can interact with leading financial institutions, application and middleware vendors, systems integrators, consultants and central clearing systems – both at their stands and at the two Open Theatres.
There will be a number of other elements for you to explore, such as the Library, the Standards Forum stand, and the Connect Lounge, where you can network and pick up a quick ‘Grab & Go’ lunch option.
Please note that for those who purchase the lunch option, it’s a choice each day between Grab & Go or the Sibos Restaurant. Not both. We’ve introduced Grab & Go as an alternative for those who may be pushed for time.
The Innotribe sessions will also take place in a visual ‘coffee shop’-style space in the Connect Zone, alongside workshops and further networking opportunities.
I’ve attempted to give you a flavour of each of the five Zones, but there really is so much more to see and do.
I would advise you to have a good look at the floor plan to see what else awaits your arrival!
