Sandi Toksvig to speak at Women of the World networking event

The Women of the World (WOW) networking event returns to Sibos for a second year to explore the importance of female leadership in the financial industry.

The evening provides an opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, make new connections and hear from VIP speaker Sandi Toksvig OBE. Sandi, beloved broadcaster, writer and producer across British radio, TV and theatre, will discuss her experience forging a career as a leading female comedy figure in a male-dominated world.

Sandi was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and brought up around the world in Europe, Africa and the United States. She began her comedy career at Girton College, Cambridge where she wrote and performed in the first all-woman Footlights show (the University’s amateur theatrical club founded in 1883), and achieved a first class degree.

Sandi’s television career has included celebrated UK series such as Call My Bluff and Whose Line Is It Anyway? In 2016, she took over from Stephen Fry as host of BBC2's hugely popular quiz show QI. In 2017 she and Noel Fielding became the new co-hosts of The Great British Bake Off in its move to Channel 4.

Sandi is an activist for gender equality and in 2014 co-founded the Women’s Equality Party. Her speech will provide her perspective on the challenges women face building a successful career.

The WOW event is open to all and takes place at The Bridge Restaurant, ExCeL London, 5pm – 7.30pm on Wednesday 25 September 2019. Registration is not required.
