This year's conference - a preview
We are compiling a rich conference programme that will explore our central theme for 2019, ‘Thriving in a hyper-connected world’. We are organising a variety of thought provoking sessions which will drive understanding and debate around our five critical sub-themes: enhancing digital ecosystems, exploring the human element, geopolitics and regulation, cyber security and leveraging data.
In this month’s Insider, we focus on the first of our sub-themes – enhancing digital ecosystems. This conference stream will examine how the Sibos community can leverage new technologies such as APIs, DLT and AI to offer better services to meet customer demands. Examples of some of the exciting sessions we will be running in the stream are:
Ecosystems are blooming – time to act?
Pulp friction: Where are we on the road towards frictionless payments?
Compliance and blockchain: regulatory benefit or hurdle?
You can read more about enhancing digital ecosystems in our article, ‘Reducing friction, increasing mobility in a digital ecosystem’, the first in a series which will explore each of the sub-themes in detail.
The full conference programme will be available in June. You can find more information on the sessions we are putting together here.
The Mayor of London welcomes Sibos
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan explains why as a global financial and innovation hub, and home to many of the world’s leading banks, technology providers and fintechs, London is the perfect host city for Sibos 2019. Watch his welcome message to the Sibos community as it plans to gather in London to learn, explore business opportunities and debate the future of the financial services industry.
Showcasing innovation in the Discover Zone
Following a successful debut in Sydney, we have ambitious plans for this year’s Discover Zone. We’re welcoming the world’s most exciting fintechs to exhibit among the best and brightest of the innovation community, facilitating the connections and collaboration required to future proof the industry. At the heart of the zone the Innotribe stage will host a full four day programme of cutting edge speakers, examining how technology will impact the long term future of the financial industry. Applications to exhibit in the Discover Zone are open now. Fintechs can find out more about the benefits of exhibiting and how to apply for a stand here.
Our charity partners for Sibos 2019
Each year, Sibos works with carefully selected charity partners in the country where the event is taking place. This year’s charity partners are The Honeypot Children’s Charity and Speakers for Schools.
The Honeypot Children’s Charity provides respite breaks and support for young carers and vulnerable children across the UK, many of whom would otherwise have nowhere to turn. Founded by journalist Robert Peston, Speakers for Schools aims to bridge educational inequality by arranging assembly-style talks from well-known figures, and high-impact work experience programmes.
