How can I book a taxi outside the CNCC?

You can book a taxi in Beijing using several methods: hail one on the street, use popular ride-hailing apps like DiDi, or call local taxi services. Additionally, you can book a taxi through WeChat or Alipay.

The most common taxi-hailing app in China is DiDi, also known as DiDi Chuxing. It’s similar to Uber and is available in English.

If you download DiDi from an app store, you’ll need to enter a Chinese mobile phone number and connect to a method of payment. Alternatively, if you’re using Alipay for payments, open Alipay on your smartphone and click DiDi Taxi (or “More” to find it).

While waiting for the driver you can see the driver information and location of the car. You can also call or send messages to the driver, cancel the trip and share the trip. The taxi fare will be deducted automatically from your payment account after the trip.

How can participants find a taxi from the CNCC?

To arrange a taxi from the CNCC please visit the taxi counter located on Level 1 Hall 4 in the pre-function area, open from 11:30 to 18:30 from Monday 21 to Thursday 24 October.

Our team will write down your destination address in both English and Chinese, then guide you to the Taxi Waiting Area through exit E3. We can provide English and Chinese language support for both participants and taxi drivers.

No pre-booking is accepted, taxis are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Most taxis in China accept cash and mobile payments through apps like WeChat Pay or Alipay. Credit and debit cards may not always be accepted, so it’s a good idea to check with the driver beforehand.

If you require language support, contact the Sibos transport management team at +65 8067 2247 via WeChat or WhatsApp, or call +86 131 2100 3387.

How can I make payments while in China?

As a foreign traveller to China, there are many options available for making payments. It’s important to research and plan ahead to ensure you have a convenient and secure way to make payments whilst visiting the country. One option is to use cash, which can be obtained by exchanging your home currency for Chinese Yuan at a bank or currency exchange.

Another method of payment is to use a credit card, although it is important to note that not all merchants in China accept foreign credit cards and charges will likely apply.

Mobile payment apps are widely used and more information can be found here.

International visitors to China can also purchase the Beijing Pass, a new pre-payment card that can be used for taxis, public transportation and shopping in Beijing. It can also be used to pay for entry to many of the city’s main tourist attractions.

The Beijing Pass can be purchased at the Beijing Pass counters at Beijing Capital International Airport (Terminal 3) and Beijing Daxing International Airport. For more information visit The People's Government of Beijing Municipality’s website page here
